VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Allegheny CleanWays, an organization that has been instrumental in engaging and partnering with community groups to remove dumps and debris from vacant lots, greenways, streets, and riverbanks, is planning a volunteer clean up along the Youghiogheny River.  The three day event will take place on Friday, May 17th, 2013 through Sunday, May 19th, 2013.  Volunteers are welcome to take part in any or all sessions.  The sessions are as follows:

TREE IDENTIFICATION SEMINAR / HIKE

Venture Outdoors is offering a basic tree identification seminar for members and non-members on Saturday, July 20th, 2013.  This event is scheduled for 1 pm to 3 pm (rain or shine) and will be held at the Dead Man's Hollow conservation area.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the different species that call the Allegheny Land Trust property home.  The 2 hour hike over the moderate terrain will be led by Ecologists Henry Schumacher and Jonathan Farrell.
